Katie Bart joined Alden Law Group as a Legal Assistant and Client Liaison in February 2022. She serves as the first point of communication for potential clients and conducts paralegal work.
Prior to joining Alden Law Group, Katie spent a year as a bread baker and pastry cook in Washington D.C. at neighborhood bakeries, working both the early morning and overnight shifts.
Katie has three years of experience working in appellate and civil rights law. After college, Katie spent a year as a Civil Liberties Fellow at the ACLU of Michigan. There, she worked on political and legal strategy to reform the state’s cash bail system. Following her fellowship, Katie moved to Washington D.C. to work at an appellate law firm and on the SCOTUSblog editorial team.
Katie graduated with honors from the University of Chicago with a B.A. in Public Policy Studies in 2018. Katie focused her studies on public benefits systems, the criminal legal system, and community organizing. Her senior thesis on financial emergency management in Michigan school districts was selected as a top thesis in her major.
